Damn almost 4 hours
have like no idea where you save this on mamp
58 is extremely old to be starting any career, let alone in software. You might have better luck as an independent consultant; companies typically expect coders to move up or out by the time they're 50. They will see you as a risk. Not to mention it's a field where what you learn now may not be valued in 5 years.

Thanks, I've been confused about these distinctions
In which app we can type the program
The AI writing feature in Mystrika is a game changer for personalizing cold emails. The liquid syntax for dynamic email generation is a revolutionary tool. Say goodbye to generic outreach and hello to increased response rates with Mystrika. Give it a try and watch your emails transform!
The inbox rotation feature in Mystrika has helped me scale my cold email efforts to new heights. The ability to send emails to almost infinity is a game-changer for outreach campaigns. Trust me, you would not regret incorporating Mystrika into your sales strategy.
Ok iam a noob but, cant i build websites through sites like hostinger??, or html css is more preferable
Thank you. Finally understand what's going on
No problem. 🙂
How do you ask for feedback? I'm new to Upwork and need feedback, but am not sure where to ask for it.
Just as a part of your normal interaction with the client.
this is not dynamically if we are the ones who writes fields. it should takes these datas from inputs automatically fmo
Manually = creating the fields in phpMyAdmin. Dynamically = doing it via PHP code. Automagically = what you described
@@john.morris thank you sir i did it btw
Thanks man
Thank you Sr

I want how to create a website template
You made it so clear! Thank you 🙏🏻
No problem. Glad it was helpful 🙂
I think your version is to long and to technical.
Thanks Sir 🫡
In 2023 14 years of all possible programming languages on planet is not enough to get a junior position 😂😂😂
But is it still worth learning it from scratch when there are tools like webflow?
nice advice I'm mostly here because I keep getting an error when I try to change my picture "Sorry, something went wrong. We were unable to upload your image" very annoying 😆
I don't think this video aged well LOL
how can I make my text bold ?
I am currently working on something similar but much more simplified as I don't really have some much knowledge about PHP and SQL. I am working on a simple CMS based on local memory, there is one user: admin. And all operations are made on files. I used JSON file to edit the websites title, descriptions, links even META tags etc. And also added an "advanced" view where you can edit code in a browser (if you want add some bigger changes). I am planning to do some blogging management as well, so you can basically copy paste a ready-made template (just by clicking a "create new" button) and using variables and JSON files you will be able to edit the post without database. It is a bit complex and I am still learning but I think I could do it. I know this is inefficient or there is better way, but this is the only way I am able to do it.
I loved your diagram it's cute af
Great tips - thanks, John!
how to follow up??? how can you message a client whom project you haven't done any time???
Which text editor are u using John?
Wow! This is really expository. I've watched a couple of your videos sir & one of your central themes has been for freelancers to deliver excellently from the proposals to the final draft of the projects while upholding a high standard. This way, they attract high-quality clients. Thank you sir.
I've known this stuff for years but haven't found clients or jobs. I built a web app for a small business to track the things they purchased online that were being delivered by ups/fedex/etc, just an all in one place to see all their tracking numbers and latest updates. They never asked for any changes and it hasn't broken to this day. I had another client who needed a contact form on his site to talk to an email template building feature in his mailchimp account. He had hired at least 2 people over a 4 or 5 year period who couldn't actually do it. I did it in an hour in raw php and then spent another day or so making that form page look like his main site (wordpress template) and making it responsive (his site was not responsive). That was like 5 years ago. I haven't found a client since.
so how have you been supporting your bills and lifestyle?
Can I name my main HTML file for example mainpage.html instead of index.html? Is it going to affect the website anyhow? Also, how should I name other html files if I build a multi-page website for example social media platform, streaming service, or something similar? On the other hand, where do the index.html and other naming come from?
I'm glad you're still doing content on here, John. A good amount of freelancer RUclipsrs haven't made ANY content for nearly a year. I took some time off freelancing for most of this year but I'm ready to go back into it. But I'm still as confused (even more so, actually) than I have ever been when it comes to this stuff. I'm at the point where I just look for some kind of samples to attach to my proposal, make my proposal as "you" focused as possible, and hope for the best.
Hello MySQL injection …
I have a react front end and node backend on separate repos. Is there a way to manipulate the HTML file before it's sent to the client? I'm trying to see if there's a way for me to us PHP to do this.
Hello Mr. Morris. Your videos have been really helpful to me in really understanding the Upwork process in recent times. You are a really great teacher. Thank you very much. How do I get to see the client's name and send them follow-up messages? I used to think these were hidden until the client messages me first.
Appreciate that. Glad the info has been helpful. As for the client's name, check the reviews other freelancers have left about them. They'll often include their first name.
@@john.morris Thank you very much. I'll do that.

Hi John now on Upwork you can see many freelancers are sounding the alarm because of - the increase in rates per project from 12 to 16 connect And also Freelancers will no longer be able to see feedback client And there are risks of fraud by clients Please raise this topic it is relevant and make a video about it WE NEED to REQUIRE CHANGES 1) Remove the number of boosted connections for job 2 ) Need Return the OLD Algoritm AUCTION Betting for job for send proposal 3) Make clients publish their jobs for a fee, to avoid fake clients and projects Then clients won't leave and will be looking for freelancers to hire. 4) Also need opened client job history with feedback for freelancers We freelancers should unite and make upwork hear us.
Thank you for this excellent video! I appreciate how you don't omit the technical concepts, but always explain them clearly. This has enhanced my understanding of programming generally.
Well thanks. I appreciate you saying that. 🙏
Your are a great teacher
Appreciate that. Thanks for watching! 🙂
@@john.morris Is the skillshare course (Freelancing on Upwork) still valuable nowdays??
It is. It's on my Skillshare profile here: www.skillshare.com/en/r/user/johnmorris and Udemy here: myjohn.us/upwork. I want to put it up here on RUclips but Upwork is pretty militant about showing its interface on videos. I got several copyright strikes from them a few years back. So, I gotta figure that out and prob re-record and all that. Anyway, it's available in those places right now.
Woah long time
The tutorial is long or a long time since I posted? Both I guess. 😀
It's nice to see you again in this corner of the internet.
Thanks! 🙂
Thank you, John. Haven’t seen you in awhile.
No problem. Yeah, was MIA for a bit dealing with some health stuff. Glad to be back! Thanks for sticking around. 🙂
Happy to see you back.
Thanks Hamid!
You again!? Ha, kidding. Glad you're continuing making content! And I see your alter-ego has now "upgraded" from a shadow to grayscale. I dunno man. I think he's gaining on you. 👀 We gotta nail this guy before it's too late!
Funny you mention that. I do that cause I have such oily skin and color videos look like I'm sweating my ass off... And I haven't been able to figure out how to fix it. 😀 So, f***it. Go black and white. 🤷🤣
Welcome back John! Missed you a lot. Good to have you back
Thanks Andrei! Appreciate you sticking around!
Hello John. Any thoughts on the future of web development after the effects of AI like ChatGPT?
Kinda crazy right? I do have some thoughts. Prob a bit long for here. That something you'd want a video on?
@@john.morris What I want to ask you, is there some effect on the rate of successful proposals, if you write it with ChatGPT
About web development with ChatGPT everything is clear, if you are not a developer, chatgpt wont help you to write any meaningful app
That's gonna be a bit hard to know since Upwork doesn't talk much about its algorithm and if they would detect for that. I think it'd be silly if they did but they've done sillier things. That said, from what I understand, most of the AI-detection tools analyze the perplexity and burstiness of the text to see if it's AI- generated. So, if you tell ChatGPT to keep the projector perplexity low and burstiness high, it will. The output not only can beat the AI detectors (for now) but it actually does sound more human.
Hey John, it's great to see you back! We've missed your content. Welcome back to the channel!"
Thanks Antoni! Appreciate you sticking around. Anything you're struggling with or would like to learn that I could do a video on?
@@john.morris I always have trouble keeping up with your speaking pace. Could you please try to slow down a bit?
Oh interesting. I usually get the opposite criticism (that I talk to slow). 🤣 I'll try to keep that in mind going forward. Thanks!
Welcome back John! Happy to see you doing videos again
Thanks Omar! Thanks for sticking around! 🙂
it's been a long time John ! Happy to see you back
Thanks Roland! It has been awhile. Thanks for sticking around. Hopefully, I can bring you some value going forward. 🙂
